Many grain companies have feeding recommendations on their products to feed one-half to one and one-half pounds of grain per 100 pounds of bodyweight of the horse. This means 5 to 15 pounds of grain per 1,000 pound horse. Most horses do not require this much grain. If you feed less, then you receive less vitamins and minerals. This is why you need Green Mountain Horse Premix to supplement your horse.

Feeding directions for Horse Premix is one ounce per 500 lbs. of bodyweight per horse per day. You may feed one ounce per 1,000 lbs. of body weight if you are feeding more than one half of the recommended amount of grain. A one ounce scoop is provided. If you are feeding a commercial feed you may only need one ounce per horse per day as it may have some minerals in it.
